Channel Link Alien Crosstalk & 6 Around 1 Test
Today's Category 6A cabling system adds the possible impact on increasing amount of noise. The typical cabling system for a data center or a commercial building are characterized by multiple Ethernet applications running over a significant volume of different cable designs and performance levels. In accordance to the TIA/EIA 568.2-D standard, the category 6A is tested up to 500 MHz and required to reach 10G Base-T transmission speed. As the higher frequency is positively relative to AXT (alien crosstalk) and the performance parameter.
CRXCONEC here to share the information of the overall noise level for Cat.6A cabling system and the information of 6 around 1 test.
What Makes Cat.6A Different?
It can be predicted performance in bundled & lower cable losses. Category 6A is the first cabling specification which indicated the repeatable AXT (alien crosstalk) performance, while its frequency up to 500 MHz, and have an insertion loss improved compared with Cat.6 and Cat.5E cabling to allow the network electronics to achieve their maximum performance.
Measured the loss in Cat.5E and Cat.6 cables, is depended on the bundling tightness and check the disturbing signals are at which locations of the bundle cables. About the Category 6A cable developed are related to a well-controlled spacing design between the cables. Also PoE Plus needed to be concerned with both the effects of bundled cabling and the signal loss of the cabling.
What Is Alien Cross-Talk (AXT)?
Alien crosstalk is the interference occurred by a pair of wires in one cable inducing noise into other pairs of wires in adjacent cables. This happens if one cable is surrounded by many other cables in a bundle. Cables that can suffer from noise coupling from other cables are identified as the Disturbed cable or (Victim). AXT becomes more important as people increase the bandwidth requirement of cables in order to get faster applications.
6 around 1 test
A typical Cat.6A cabling system includes bundled coupling of one cable's transmitted signal into another cable. From the test standard of ANSI/TIA-568.2-D,include testing for alien crosstalk in a 6-around-1 test.
Victim Cable & Distributor
Cables that suffer from noise coupling from other cables are identified as the Disturbed cable or (Victim cable) and the surrounding cables are the distributors. See the“six around one” bundled configuration with a victim cable.
